Margot Foster AM OLY
Margot Foster AM OLY is a board governance specialist through her consultancy Boardroom Excellence Australia. Her wealth of knowledge and extensive experience is founded in the many boards on which she has served, beginning at university. She has held directorships on a wide variety of private and government bodies at state and national levels and has been appointed to several roles with international organisations.
Margot is Vice President Motorsport Australia, Chair of Sports Environment Alliance, chair of two nomination committees, chair of election committees for World Athletics and World Sailing, and a member of the election committee for World Taekwondo. She is a mediator and a happy ex lawyer. At the 1984 Olympic Games and 1986 Commonwealth Games Margot won bronze and gold medals, respectively, in rowing. In 2015 she became a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to sports governance, women’s sport and as an elite athlete.
