What you receive as an impact partner

A meaningful contribution, your way
For every organisation you refer to BoardPro that signs up for a subcription, you receive AUD $1,000, and the choice is entirely yours. Keep it. Donate it to a cause you believe in. Or let us pool it into our Impact Fund, distributed to community organisations nominated by our network. However you choose to use it, the value is 100% yours, no cuts, no conditions.

A seat at the table
Our Impact Panel, made up of BoardPro's leadership and CEOs from peak governance bodies, meets every quarter to decide where pooled funds and free BoardPro software go. As a partner, you're part of a genuine, independently governed program.

Recognition, not just reward
Partners who go above and beyond are spotlighted across our community and social channels, your name and your work, put in front of the audiences who matter most to you.

Zero admin burden
A simple, branded referral page tracks everything automatically. No spreadsheets, no chasing payments, just a fixed fee, reconciled every month, for as long as you're part of the program.

Genuine independence, respected
We know your credibility depends on staying neutral. This program isn't about pushing product, it's about rewarding the referrals you're likely already making, because you believe in what good governance makes possible.

Why it matters

Every board that governs well is a board that can focus on its real purpose, more kids playing, more people on the water, more games on the field, more growth for the businesses driving our economy, and more work done for the communities that need it. When you refer BoardPro, you're not just recommending software. You're helping another organisation spend less time on admin, and more time on driving real-world impact.

Everything boards need in one place

The Impact Panel - How it Works

At the heart of BoardPro's Impact Awards is our Impact Panel, a group of respected governance leaders who meet quarterly to review nominations and recognise the organisations delivering genuine, real-world impact in the communities they serve.

How it works

Each quarter, nominations are submitted from across our network, highlighting organisations whose governance is translating directly into meaningful outcomes, for their people, their sector, or the communities they represent.

The Impact Panel then comes together to carefully review each nomination. Panel members bring deep governance expertise and a genuine understanding of what real impact looks like in practice, not just strong intentions, but measurable, tangible outcomes.

Following thoughtful discussion and deliberation, the panel selects the organisation whose work best reflects the standard the Impact Awards were created to celebrate. Awards include financial grants up to $10,000 and free BoardPro software for life.

What we look for

The panel considers evidence of impact that goes beyond good governance on paper, organisations that have used strong decision-making, leadership, and board practice to create real change for the people and communities they exist to serve.

Why it matters

The Impact Awards aren't about recognition for its own sake. They exist to shine a light on what's possible when good governance is put into action, and to inspire more organisations across Australia and New Zealand to lead with the same purpose and impact.

Frequently asked questions

Sounds too good to be true, what's the catch?

There isn't one; we're not asking for money, just the chance to showcase the impact your organisation is already making in the community, because your success is the best advertisement for what BoardPro stands for.

Our clients use shared drives and email – is switching worth the effort?

Most organisations are fully set up within days, not weeks. Because there's a 10-minute learning curve, you won't need to run extensive training sessions to get your board using it properly.

I'm already using another board portal – is it worth exploring BoardPro?

Yes, absolutely – even if your current contract hasn't come to an end yet. Every situation is different so let’s have a chat.

How is "real-world impact" actually assessed—who decides?

Applications are assessed against demonstrated community outcomes, not just good intentions, and reviewed by the Impact Panel—which includes external peak-body CEOs alongside BoardPro's leadership, so it's not a purely internal call.

Is the free software award a permanent subscription, or does it expire?

It's free for life — for as long as the organisation exists and continues using it, there's no expiry date, no renewal fee, and no strings attached. We're not offering a trial or an introductory discount that reverts to a paid plan later; once an organisation is awarded a subscription through the Impact Project, it stays free permanently. The only thing we ask in return is the chance to share their story as part of our impact reporting — not payment, now or ever.

Who can be nominated for the Impact Awards?

Any organisation referred through the program that can demonstrate genuine, measurable impact in the community or sector they serve, not-for-profits, sports clubs, and commercial organisations alike.

How is this different from a standard referral program?

Rather than a price-based incentive, the Impact Project rewards referrals through recognition and community impact, reflecting BoardPro's broader mission rather than a transactional discount.

What happens to our existing charity and partner arrangements?

These are being consolidated under the Impact Project, so there's one clear, unified program rather than multiple separate arrangements running in parallel.

What do the winning organisations receive?

Organisations recognised by the Impact Panel qualify to receive cash grants from BoardPro. These payments range from $1,000 through to $10,000. The Impact panel also awards up to fifty (50) free BoardPro subscriptions each year. These accounts are free for life and awarded to those organisations that can prove that good governance can positively impact their operations and the communities they serve.

Why is BoardPro doing this instead of a traditional referral discount?

Because impact, not just growth, sits at the core of BoardPro's mission, this model rewards the outcomes we actually want to create, not just new sign-ups.
