Jo Kelly, CS, MInstD
Jo is a highly trusted company secretary with expertise across many sectors including private and publicly listed entities, government organisations, Charities, NFP’s and several of New Zealand's largest major sporting events. She serves as a board member of University and Tertiary Sport New Zealand (UTSNZ).
Jo was previously Trust Manager of the Kelliher Charitable Trust where she was responsible for supporting New Zealand communities through charitable grants and tertiary economics scholarships.
With a background in accounting and a variety of executive leadership roles, Jo brings a strong focus on strategy and stakeholder relations coupled with a modern, pragmatic approach to governance. Her broad professional and NFP background enables her to understand the unique challenges faced by different organisational structures.
Julie Hood
Julie Hood is the Lead Governance and Planning Consultant for Sport New Zealand Ihi Aotearoa (Sport NZ) Her role focuses on evolving the governance programmes and support to help sector boards implement sustainable, effective governance practices that drive long-term resultsi
She is currently applying what she is still learning about governance as an independent board member for the Wellington North Badminton Association, experiencing firsthand the challenges and rewards of voluntary governance.
Prior to arriving at Sport NZ Julie had executive roles in public, private and not for profit health.
In 2024, Julie started a PhD to better understand how CEOs of sport organisations might develop their governance capability given the key role they play supporting good governance.
